I joined the lab as a MSc student in the summer of 2023. Before joining the lab, I attended Iowa State University, receiving my Batchelor’s in fisheries and a minor in biology. The last two summers, I have interned with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources as an Aquatic Invasive Species intern and a Hatchery intern growing muskellunge and walleye for Iowa and several surrounding states. During my Junior year at ISU, I worked with FishBrain as a Data Labeling intern, assisting in broadening the machine learning species recognition database. Overall, I am interested in using my previous experience with machine learning to recognize patterns in user-generated data.
My current research focuses on the economic impact of coastal and marine recreational fishing, and temporal patterns of blotchy bass syndrome.
