The natural degradation of POPs is extremely slow because of the high energy of the C-Cl bond. We develop novel nanostructured photocatalysts for the visible light-activated degradation of chlorinated organic pollutants, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), perchloroethylene (PCE), and trichloroethylene (TCE).
