Dr. Holtgraves’ primary research investigates the social psychological factors involved in the production and comprehension of language. Current research is focused primarily on the social, cognitive and neural processes underlying instances of miscommunication. Graduate Students
Emily Cronk, B.S.
Emily Cronk is a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology and Social Psychology Master’s of Arts Programs at Ball State University. This is Emily’s fourth year in the lab, and their interests broadly include interpersonal and health communication, adolescent/adult psychopathology, and education. Emily is also a School Psychology Intern at Anderson Community Schools. In their spare time, Emily enjoys playing video games, reading comics, and making art.
Ana Julia Mourao, B.A.
Ana Julia Mourao is a second-year graduate student in the Psychological Science Masters of Arts program at Ball State University. Ana Julia’s research interests include emotion regulation, cognitive functions, and sleep. More specifically, she is interested in how sleep impacts emotional health. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, doing outdoor activities, and reading.
Collin Kriegbaum, B.S.
Collin Kriegbaum is a second-year graduate student pursuing a dual master’s degrees’ in Clinical Psychology and Quantitative Psychology at Ball State University. Collin’s research interests include the etiology and treatment of anxiety disorders, with a specific focus on social anxiety. He is particularly interested in digital mental health interventions, personalized/precision treatment, single-session interventions, increasing adherence in internet-based cognitive behavioral treatments, and parasocial interactions/relationships. His hobbies include writing, playing, and singing music, as well as woodworking.
Christopher Guadalupe, B.S.
Christopher Guadalupe is a second-year graduate student in both the Clinical and Quantitative Psychology programs. His research focuses on the intersection of personality and psychopathology. Outside of his academic work, he enjoys playing video games, spending time with his nearly 11-month-old son, and has recently taken up Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) fencing.
Undergraduate Students
Jenna Kelly
Jenna Kelly is a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Psychological Science Program at Ball State University, with minors in Counseling, History, and English Literature. Jenna currently works as a grader and remote early learning educator at Kumon, teaching children ages 3-7. After graduation, she hopes to earn a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and work as a mental health therapist. She is interested in researching stigmatization, mental health representation in media, and group dynamics. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, embroidery, knitting, and movie nights with her friends.
Holley Hannegan
Holley Hannegan is a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Psychological Science Bachelor of Arts Program at Ball State University, with minors in Peace Studies/Conflict Resolution and German. Holley’s research interests include interpersonal communication and political psychology. She serves as the President of the German Club at Ball State, is an SGA Senator, and works at Muncie Children’s Museum as an exhibit educator. In her free time, Holley likes to thrift shop, crochet, and hang out with friends.
Anna Gick
Anna Gick is a third-year undergraduate student in the Psychological Science Bachelor of Science Program at Ball State University, with a minor in Studio Art. Anna is also a first-year student in the Psychological Science Accelerated Master’s Program. Anna’s research interests include language development and communication. In her spare time, she likes reading, spending time with friends, playing sports such as softball and bowling, and baking.
Miguelangel Ortega
Miguelangel Ortega is a third-year undergraduate student in the Psychological Science Bachelor of Science Program at Ball State University, with minors in Communication Studies and Sociology. Miguel’s research interests include the effects educational structures have on student learning, factors that enhance/hinder interpersonal communication, and inaction caused by overthinking. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, watching nature, and singing.
