Jackie Grutsch McKinney is currently the Director of Immersive Learning and High Impact Practices at Ball State University and a Professor of English.
Since 2003, she has served in many roles at Ball State including Professor of English where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses, Director of the Writing Program, and Director of the Writing Center. In 2019, she was awarded Ball State Outstanding Faculty Member in recognition of her research, teaching, and service.
She served on the International Writing Centers Association executive board (Vice President, President, and Past President) from 2015-2021, the East Central Writing Center Association
(Vice President, President, and Past President), and currently serves as an advisory board member for the Howe Center for Writing Excellence at Miami University of Ohio.
Her award-winning research focuses on writing center studies, particularly issues of administrative labor, and on research methods for writing studies.
