Lauren finished her high school diploma at the Forest Hills Central High School in Grand Rpids, Michigan.  She is currently a Pre-Med student majoring in Biochemistry at Ball State.  This is her first academic research experience and she will be synthesizing an arabinose intermediate that can be utilized for making analogues of a natural product, ipomoeassin F.
