Custom Technologies for Training, Evaluation, and Research

Josh Raines of the Social Science Research Center (SSRC) at Ball State University is leveraging the power of virtual technology to create custom, portable learning environments.

Welcome to the home of BSU’s Virtual Training and Evaluation program.  The SSRC creates immersive education experiences in response to issues faced by our own community. Specifically, tools that place students in failure-tolerant virtual environments to practice. And practice in places that would be too difficult, or even dangerous, to otherwise bring to the classroom. Our fully immersive VR experiences more thoroughly, safely, and cost-effectively give users the opportunity to “practice-practice” skills in new and engaging ways.
