Avery (she/her) graduated summa cum laude in May 2021 from Ball State with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Science with a minor in Interpersonal Relations. This is her first semester working in the P2 lab where she will be assisting with data collection on projects conducted in collaboration with the Youth Opportunity Center (YOC). Avery is also a research assistant for Dr. Nilou Lueke’s study titled “People think differently: Personality and Cognitive Styles.” She is currently also employed at the YOC, where she works directly with the residents as a Youth Support Specialist. She is learning a lot about how life events can affect present behavior, personality, and emotions and plans to apply this information in her career. Avery plans to obtain her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and eventually a PhD so she can either administer assessments, work with clients doing exposure therapy, or conduct with neuropsychological research.

Outside of the lab, Avery enjoys playing Animal Crossing, reading, napping with her cats, watching scary movies, and relaxing in the sun at The Cup.
