Alex Detrich (she/her) is a senior at Ball State University and is majoring in Psychological Science and minoring in Criminal Justice and Criminology. This is Alex’s second semester in the lab, where she will be collecting data for Nick Mundell’s thesis, which examines the role of demoralization in predicting risky drinking among college students. In addition to this project, Alex has also composed a literature review on spatial cognition through an Undergraduate Honors Fellowship with Dr. Daniele Nardi and is currently working on her honors thesis. Along with her position in the P2 lab, she is also a teaching assistant for two sections of Dr. Lueke’s Psychopathology course, a coordinator and counselor for Camp Kesem at Ball State, and an active member of Psi Chi. Alex is excited to take a deeper dive into psychopathology and spatial cognition for her future endeavors, which include pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a career as a researcher and professor. When not in the lab or working on her academics, Alex enjoys solving Rubik’s cubes, playing soccer with her friends, and spending time with her siblings.
